Description

The Multicom Optical Transport Chassis (OTC) is a 4RU, 19" rack mountable equipment shelf with 14 service slots, redundant hot swappable power supplies, system management controller and display.

Power supplies, fans and management modules are hot swappable and are integrated into the chassis design leaving all 14 slots open for Transmitter, EDFA and HFC/RFoG Return Path Receiver modules. All modules are plug in/hot swappable with RF inputs and outputs fixed to the chassis rear panel, simplifying module replacement.

The OTC management controller includes a front mounted LCD display/control keys for local operations, and supports SNMP remote management/monitoring. When a module is installed, inventory parameters are automatically registered with the controller to simplify service activation, and allowing new modules to be installed onto existing systems without software upgrades or service interruptions.
