• About airMAX

airMAX Rocket MProvides superior wireless performance, more clients per Access Point (AP), and lower latency. Unlike standard WiFi protocol, Ubiquiti’s Time Division Multiple Access (TDMA) airMAX protocol allows each client to send & receive data using pre-designated time slots scheduled by an intelligent AP controller. This “time slot” method eliminates hidden node collisions & maximizes air time efficiency. It provides many magnitudes of performance improvements in latency, throughput, & scalability.

  • airMAX Protocol Benefits

SCALABILITY: 802.11 protocol (based on carrier sensing) was designed for indoor networks where clients can “hear” one another one another. airMAX Protocol (based on TDMA) was designed for outdoors; hidden nodes are no problem.

LATENCY: airMAX protocol has “smart polling” which senses voice/video packets and gives them priority. It also provides priority to “active” clients over “idle” ones to provides priority to “active” clients over “idle” ones to optimize perceived latency on large networks.

SPEED: airMAX is based on latest 1×1 and 2×2 MIMO radio technology. 150Mbps+ real TCP/IP throughput in PtP mode and 100Mbps+ in PtMP mode and 100Mbps+ in PtMP

  • airOS Integrated Technologies

software-all-threePowerful Features: airOS is an intuitive, versatile, highly developed Ubiquiti firmware technology that resides on Ubiquiti Station products. airOS is exceptionally intuitive and was designed to require no training to operate. Behind the user interface is a powerful firmware architecture which enables hi-performance outdoor multipoint networking.

airSelect – Dynamically changes the wireless channel to avoid interference.

airView – Advanced spectrum analyzer functionality: waterfall, waveform, and real-time spectral views allow operators to identify noise signatures and plan their networks to minimize noise interference.
